We are the first rock choir in Italy. Our choir was first established in 2010 and now counts up to 100 members. We sing rock and pop song in English; songs by Queen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, U2, the Ramones, Blur, Imagine Dragons, David Bowie, Nirvana, Oasis, The Police, The Cure, Patti Smith and many more. Guitar, bass,
Cajon and sometimes the piano are used as accompaniment instruments to our live performances working up to an explosion of contagious energy!

All about Vocals
The Teacher
Our director is Roberta Magnetti.
She has been playing, singing and breathing rock from a very young age and has now been leading this 4/4
mission for a few years. Her aim is to encourage all rock fans who know all the songs by heart but never
dared to sing them publicly to finally let lose. The Vocal eXcess welcomes all rockers between the ages of
11 and 70. Many of our members have never sung before, but this is just because they never found the right
group to sing with..

The Band
Roberto Alferi
Member of the band "Mao e la rivoluzione" in the 90s, guitarist of Daniele Silvestri and 883, also delights as a singer with the Gypsy eyes, tribute band to Jimi Hendrix and has a huge passion for jazz of American crooners of the years '50. But he expresses it elsewhere.
Sara Gennaro
He is our drummer but also a million other things. He can play like John Bonham, and dance like Don Lurio: take a ride on his YouTube channel, a world will open up. Least but not last, has a very welcoming and professional recording studio in which we recorded the instruments of the Vocal eXcess album, the FreakOne
Sergio Giusto
We have the honor of being the only group in which this string wizard plays the electric bass. In fact he graduated in Jazz music and certainly saw him perform in Turin nights with the legendary U.T.O., the Ukulele Turin Orchestra. Yes, he also plays the ukulele.

Collaborations

Tatè ‘Nsongan
2016
Historical Cameroonian percussionist of the Mau Mau, in 2016 he released a solo album, Dikalo, a double CD that collects his creations and makes use of numerous featuring. The Vocal eXcess sang Douala, a song in French, they also performed it live at the disc show concert.

2016
On the wave of the success of his album "Mainstream", the singer-songwriter Calcutta in 2016 requested a choir for his concert in the ToDays Festival. You can imagine who was with him at the Ettore Fico Museum on August 26th ...

Miriam
2016
Also in 2016, the Indian indie group Miriam recorded his second album, "This is pop". Produced by the Neapolitan Mario Conte (former producer of Meg, singer of the 99 Posse) makes use of the vocal contribution of 7 brave soprano of Vocal eXcess in the song "I tuoi film" (your movies).
Powerillusi
2017
The 2017 marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Turin-based band Powerillusi, a historic formation of comedy rock that for the occasion publishes a celebrative album, "Powerillusi & Friends". The disc reproposes their successes rearranged and reinterpreted by innumerable guests. The Vocal eXcess had the honor of singing "il bambino povero" (The poor child), a real hit with which the Powerillusi in 1992 had won the Sanscemo Festival.
Le case del quartiere
LA NOSTRA CASA
Two of the eight houses that make up the Torino Neighborhood Houses Network are also the home of the Vocal eXcess.
The "Casa del Quartiere di San Salvario" (via Oddino Moragri 14) is a laboratory for the design and implementation of social and cultural activities that since 2010 involves associations, citizens, cultural operators providing a public service that self-produces more than 75 percent of the resources necessary for its operation.
The " Cascina Roccafranca" (via Edoardo Rubino 45) was inaugurated on May 18, 2007 and has a space of 2,500 square meters in which citizens can meet, carry out activities, develop projects and experience moments of sociability.
Our activities
To the "People Have the Power" battle cry we always supported important causes for which it is worth spending and getting involved. We sang for "Finale for Nepal", a sports and cultural volunteer project born in Finale Ligure. We have sounded the presentation of Davide Cerullo's book "The Burnt Wings", whose sale was devoted to the construction of a kindergarten in Scampia. We raised funds for: NutriAid, an independent medical-humanitarian organization engaged in the fight against child malnutrition; Allegro con Moto social cooperative that operates on our territory in favor of disadvantaged people; Blue Interlusion Association that takes care of children suffering from chronic and disabling diseases.
In Christmas 2017 we took the stage of the Teatro Regio in the evening organized by the Paideia Foundation, which has been working for over twenty years to restore trust and serenity to children and families in difficulty.
